FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE GENE CHANDLER
TO ADDRESS
BELKNAP COUNTY REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 10, 2018

LOCATION CHANGE

Shang Hai Restaurant, 331 Main St, Laconia

The Belknap County Republican Committee (BCRC) has announced that their next monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Top of the Town Restaurant, 88 Ladd Hill Rd, Belmont NH Shang Hai Restaurant, 331 Main St., Laconia NH

This month’s guest speaker will be Speaker of the House, Gene Chandler. Chandler, currently in his 18th term representing the town of Bartlett, was recently elected to serve as Speaker for the unexpired term of Speaker Shawn Jasper. Jasper was nominated in October by Governor Chris Sununu to be Agriculture Commissioner, confirmed by the Executive Council in November, and sworn in on December 11. Chandler will share his thoughts about his plans for the 2018 House session, having already made good on his promise to include House members representing various “notches” on the political spectrum to his leadership team.

Beside hearing from Speaker Chandler, the Committee will meet with the winner of the January 9 House Republican primary and review the plan to help him in the upcoming Feb 27 Special Election to fill the remainder of the term of House Rep. Flanders who passed away last September. The Committee will also hold an election at the Jan 10 meeting to select a new State Committee member to fill Rep. Flanders State Committee seat.

Belknap County GOP meetings are open to ALL Republicans and like-minded Independents. Per their usual meeting format, if you’re interested in having dinner (at your option) and/or wish to socialize before the meeting, plan to arrive as early as 5:00 pm.

The Committee again encourages its members to continue to bring non-perishable food items for donation to local food pantries.
